Club détente et loisirs de Clary

To start, I must say thank you for choosing my Image of the Sir Isaac Newton artwork by French artist Zabou (Part of the Sincil bank art project, here in Lincoln, UK).
Pour commencer, je dois vous remercier d’avoir choisi mon image de sir Isaac Newton par l’artiste francaise Zabou (qui fait partie du projet artitique « Sincil Bank » ici à Lincoln, en Angleterre ).

I first got interested in photography 26 years ago after my best friend pointed out that on our fishing trips I was spending more time taking pictures of the wildlife and Nature around me than actually doing any fishing so it was time to choose which one I enjoyed more.
 Je me suis rendu compte de mon intérêt pour la photo pour la première fois il y a 26 ans quand mon meilleur ami m’a fait remarquer que pendant notre sortie de pêche je passais plus de temps à prendre des photos de la vie sauvage et de la nature autour de moi plutôt que de pêcher vraiment, et qu’il était temps de choisir ce qui me plaisait le plus .


Soon after and armed with a Fujifiln Finepix s304 Digital camera I started my journey into the wonderful world of photography and the first images I captured with that camera were the Otter drinking and a closeup shot of a beautiful dragonfly. It also soon became clear that I was going to need a better camera as the Bridge camera suffered from Shutter delay ( I was finding it difficult to capture flying subjects because of that lag)
 Assez vite près cela, armé d’un appareil numérique Fujifiln Finepix s304 j’ai débuté mon voyage dans le monde merveilleux de la photographie. Les premières images que j’ai capturées avec cet appareil sont l’otarie qui boit et une vue de très près d’une belle libellule. Évidemment, j’ai eu tout de suite besoin d’un meilleur appareil car celui la présentait un retard à l’obturation ( je trouvais difficile de photographier des sujets volants à cause de ça).

So I upgraded to a Sony a200 DSLR and while on holiday with my friends in France got my very first successful shot of a bird in flight, a beautiful shot of a Stork over Mont St Michel ( a place that I love to visit).

C’est ainsi que j’ai changé mon appareil pour un Sony a200 DSLR. Pendant que j’étais en vacances en France avec mes amis, j’ai connu mon premier succès dans la photographie d’un oiseau en vol, avec un beau cliché d’une cigogne au dessus du Mont Saint Michel (un endroit que j’adore visiter).

As my love of photography grew so did my need for better equipment and another change of Camera was called for but it had to be one that gave me the ability to purchase good cheap second hand extra lenses so I moved over to Canon as the camera of choice finally settling on the Canon 80D and this is still my main camera to this day and along with several extra lenses came the ability to spread my wings with many more subjects adding to my portfolio.
 En même temps que mon amour de la photo grandissait le besoin d’un meilleur équipement et j’ai encore changé d’appareil, mais cette fois ci j’ai eu la possibilité d’acquérir un très bon appareil d’occasion avec des lentilles supplémentaires. Je suis donc passé à Canon en fixant finalement mon choix sur le Canon 80D qui est encore mon appareil principal aujourd’hui . Comme j’ai maintenant plusieurs lentilles j’ai la possibilité d’aborder beaucoup de sujets différents qui s’ajoutent à mon portfolio.

I prefer to shoot in RAW and Manual then use Lightroom/Photoshop to develop my images on my PC.
Je préfère photographier en RAW avec des réglages manuels et ensuite j’utilise Lightroom ou Photoshop pour développer mes images sur le PC.


For me this keeps my brain sharp and as I approach my 70th birthday I find myself making memories of Family, Holidays (In France) and practically every type of photography from Still life to Architecture and aircraft as well as my first love of Nature and its wonders.
Cela maintient mon esprit en alerte ( j’approche mon 70e anniversaire) et je me surprend à constituer des mémoires de la famille ou des vacances en France, et je photographie un peu tout, de la nature morte à l’architecture ou aux engins volants, tout en conservant mon premier amour pour la nature et ses merveilles.
